There are a range of learning activities available at Kent Life.

Heritage Trail

Visit our historic houses and compare the ways ordinary people used to live their lives in Victorian times, the 1940s and 1950s. How did they prepare their food? How did they wash themselves and their clothes? How did they spend their family time and spare time? Make a virtual Scrapbook to show what you’ve discovered.

Farmyard Friends

Visit a Farmyard Friends session and find out as much information as you can about 3 of the farm animals at Kent Life. You will find information panels around the site to help you. Tip: the Kent Life staff have a wealth of knowledge about our animals and love to answer any questions you have! Make a virtual Scrapbook to show what you’ve discovered.

Duration: Approx. 2 hours
Cost: Standard Kent Life admission prices
Booking: No need to book. Farmyard Friends sessions run throughout the day, pick up an itinerary on arrival

Historical Theme Day

Attend one of our award-winning Theme Days. Kent Life offers Stone Age, Ancient Egyptian, Ancient Greek, Roman, Anglo-Saxon, Viking, Victorian and World War Two Days where children take part in a full day of interactive workshops and demonstrations and are immersed in the period.

Duration: 4 hours
Cost: £10.00 per child. This includes admission and all workshops.
Booking: For dates and times, please see our Theme Days section of the website. Children can attend as part of a school class or Home Educators Group and visits must be booked in advance with our Education Officer Claire Geddes on 01622 763936.
