There are a number of special activities we can offer your group to enhance your visit to Kent Life.

Hopper's Delight

Begin your day with a tour and tasting at the Shepherd Neame Brewery Faversham followed by a delicious lunch of ‘Shepherd Neame Pie’. You will then depart Shepherd Neame and make your way to Kent Life, where you will join us for a tractor tour of the site, discovering the historic houses and meeting the farm animals. Visit our Oast house and our Hop Garden, planted with Fuggle and Goldings Hops, where you will learn about hop picking. Depending on the time of year, you may be able to have a go yourself as we select bines and pick hops ready for the brewing process. Once the hops are picked, you will be rewarded by the Tally Man who will escort to Dotty’s Tea Rooms for a tasty cream tea. (Own travel arrangements are required)

Field to Fork

Are you interested in good food? At Kent Life we don’t only serve delicious Kentish fare in Dotty’s Tea Room, we also grow our own! Operating our own smallholding, we grow fruit, vegetables and rear animals the traditional way. We don’t use pesticides or fertiliser, but with our homemade compost, companion planting, heritage varieties and free range animals, everything is full of flavour and as natural as can be. We’d be delighted to show you round our farm on a truly seasonal tour that takes in orchards, gardens and animals, telling the story “from field to fork”.

The tour takes 45 minutes – 1 hour and will take place outside.

Rag Rug Making

A craft of the past that has made a modern-day comeback! In days gone by, ordinary people used the materials they had available to make their homes comfortable and pretty. They used strips of old material to make warm rugs to cover draughty floors or even beds. Today, using vintage tools, we use this technique to create a beautiful rag rug piece that could be turned into a scatter cushion or wall hanging. All materials will be provided, no previous experience needed.

The workshop takes about 1.5 hours.
